Ryder Radio FAQ

Ryder Radio lets your riders request music from a QR code. You choose what plays.

How does it work?

Sign in with your email and you get a permanent QR code. Show it in your car. A rider scans it, types a song and artist and taps Request. No app and no sign in for the rider.

The request shows up on your phone. You choose what plays in your own music app, or skip the request.

Is Ryder Radio free?

Yes. Ryder Radio is free for drivers and riders. There are no ads and no tip prompts.

Do I need Spotify?

No Spotify connection is needed. Riders can type a song and artist, and you choose what plays in your own music app.

Connecting your own Spotify app adds full song search for riders and optional one-tap Play with Spotify Premium.

Do riders need an app or an account?

No. Riders scan the QR code and request songs in the browser. They never sign in.

How is this different from sharing Bluetooth or an aux cable?

Riders never connect to your car or your phone. They send a request from their own phone, and you keep your phone and the final say on what plays.

How is this different from Spotify Jam?

Spotify Jam is a Spotify feature for sharing a listening queue. With Ryder Radio, riders request from their phone browser with no app and no account, and every request waits for you to play or skip.

Can riders play anything they want?

No. Every request waits for you. Nothing plays until you choose it, and you can skip any request. Requests that you do not act on expire after 15 minutes.

Can I print my QR code?

Yes. Show the code on your phone or print it for your car. Your QR code stays the same from ride to ride.

What happens when the next rider gets in?

Start a new ride. That clears waiting requests and ends the last rider's access. Your QR code stays the same, so the next rider scans the same code.

Is it safe for riders to scan the QR code?

The QR code opens a page on ryderradio.com. Ryder Radio never asks riders for payment, a tip, an account or a sign in.

Is it safe to use while driving?

Keep your eyes on the road. Only handle requests when you are safely stopped, and follow your local laws on phone use. Ryder Radio is built so nothing needs your attention while the car is moving.

Does Ryder Radio work with Uber and Lyft?

Ryder Radio is an independent app. It is not made by, endorsed by, or affiliated with Uber, Lyft, Spotify or Apple. It works alongside whatever platform you drive for. Follow your platform's rules.

What do you know about me and my riders?

Only what the app needs, plus usage analytics that help us improve it. We do not collect precise location or run ads. Drivers create an account with their first name, last name and email address. We send marketing email only to drivers who opt in, and you can opt out at any time. See the Privacy Policy for details.

How do I delete my account?

Sign in, open Account from the menu, then tap Delete account. Your QR code stops working and your saved data is deleted.

How do I get help?

Start with the answers above. For anything else, the Privacy Policy lists our contact details.
